The driver responsible for a three-car crash near Queenstown on December 11 will be charged, police say.
Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka told the Otago Daily Times the person would be summoned to court mid-January and that they faced charges of “careless driving causing injury.”
The crash, which involved a Mercedes SUV and two Audis, closed State Highway 6 and a woman was pulled from her vehicle after it caught fire.
Firefighters from Frankton and Arrowtown put out the blaze, which was so intense it melted the road’s seal.
