The New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP) exhibition of the winning entries in the Epson-NZIPP Iris Professional Photography Awards opens in the Lounge Bar of the Skyline Restaurant at 6.30pm.
All submissions were judged in an open forum during a three-day period. The best were awarded gold, silver and bronze awards.
The judging sessions each year are open to the public with the intention of educating, inspiring and informing.
The exhibition will remain at the Skyline restaurant for the rest of the month.
Entry is free, although the Skyline Gondola ride is not.
NZIPP President Mike Langford, of Queenstown, will open the exhibition and multi-award winner and three-time category winner Jackie Ranken, of Queenstown, who has winning work in the exhibition, will attend.
Queenstown was consolidated as the base of the Otago-Southland branch of the institute at the latest annual meeting, when Ms Ranken and fellow professional photographer Emily Adamson were elected co-chairwomen, Jackie Gay, of Still Vision, secretary and Mr Langford president.
The 74-year-old non-profit institute is the only qualifying body for professional photographers in New Zealand.
More than 350 members of the institute cover the disciplines of wedding, portrait and commercial photography.
