A heartfelt gesture

St John staff will be setting a bunch of Wakatipu hearts aflutter with the organisation's annual Valentine's Day fundraiser today.

Teaming up with In The Pink, in Camp St, Queenstown, staff and volunteers will deliver flowers across the district. Fundraiser Mel Haarer (left), preparing with St John personnel Chris Marr and Debbie Sutherland, said it was an opportunity to be romantic while raising vital funds for the organisation.

In The Pink will donate the usual delivery fee to St John and the money will go towards community initiatives. ``It is a special day and we are thankful for the continual support of locals who make this a success each year.''
