A man has been taken to hospital after he became trapped under timber when a machine tipped at a Queenstown construction site today.
Emergency services raced to Highview Terrace, after reports of a man being trapped between a machine and concrete.
A Placemakers hiab had toppled at the construction site.
Acting Sergeant Grant Miller, of Queenstown, said the man was actually outside of the vehicle when it toppled and he became trapped by timber as he was operating the crane by remote control.
A St John spokesperson said the driver and sole occupant of the hiab was taken to Lakes District Hospital in a moderate condition.
Police, firefighters, and St John were informed of the incident at 2.33pm.
Worksafe is investigating the incident.
