Police in Queenstown are investigating after a man entered a hotel room at the resort and stole money.
Police said at about 4:30am a man entered a room at Holiday Inn where two women were asleep, waking one of them.
The man then left and the woman discovered money was missing, police said.
The man wore dark clothing, was thought to be in his early 20s and was described as short, slim, with black hair, dark eyes and dark skin, police said.
Police said the women were not injured in the incident.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting this description in the vicinity of the Holiday Inn at around 4.30am this morning, or anyone who has information that might assist with our investigation.
