More than half the people affected by a Covid-19 vaccine cold-chain problem have been revaccinated.
It was revealed a fortnight ago that failure by vaccination provider Engage Safety to keep the Pfizer vaccine at its correct temperature meant 1571 injections given mainly to Queenstown-Lakes and Central Otago residents might not be fully effective.
Clinics have already been run at Queenstown Airport and Glenorchy to capture people caught up in the vaccine quality issue, and a second clinic in Glenorchy is scheduled for Monday afternoon at the community hall.
The Southern District Health Board believed that its original working estimate of 1571 affected people was still reasonably accurate, a spokeswoman said.
"We have attempted to contact everyone who we have identified as being impacted by the cold-chain failure incident, and where contact details exist, we have contacted people by SMS text, phone call, email and letter."
Some of those affected were transient, such as hospitality workers in Queenstown, and the SDHB was still actively seeking the few people it had not received a response from yet, the spokeswoman said.
Those affected were vaccinated by Engage Safety between December 1 and January 28, in Queenstown-Lakes and Central Otago.
