Hundreds of people made the most of a picture-perfect Queenstown winter's day on Saturday and attended the Remarkables Midwinter Market.

Glenda Rogers, of Cromwell, showed off some of her Gertz Larder produce at the Remarkables Midwinter Market in Queenstown on Saturday.

It was the first time Mrs Rogers had sold her wares at the market after starting her business about nine years ago.

"I thought I'd come and give it a shot and spread my wings a little bit," she said.

Mrs Rogers said she started out with a catering business and made "little condiments" for that, but the condiments had taken on a life of their own and catering was taking a back seat.

"It's all about local - local honey, local fruit; just promoting the region, really."

Hers was one of more than 50 stalls at the market on Saturday, goods ranging from fruit, vegetables, cupcakes and clothing to garden ornaments, jewellery and food. The market attracted hundreds of people.

The weekly Remarkables Market will return on Saturday, October 20.
