Taking a paws for the cause

The puparazzi was out in full force in Queenstown yesterday.

Dog Rescue Dunedin hosted a "Paws & Pose" fundraiser at the resort’s dog-friendly craft beer bar Beech Tree to raise money for the care of abandoned and condemned dogs it saves across the lower South Island.

Ms Holzner took portraits of pups for donations during the afternoon, proceeds from which went to the charity, while Remarkable Dog Training’s Flip Collins provided training tips to foster carers and Queenstown Dog Bakery handed out treats for the pooches.

On hand was professional photographer Laura Holzner, pictured taking a photo of 6-month-old staffy-American bulldog Gent.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
