Geraldine Primary School’s boy group Thrift Shoppers was 19 strong and their teacher Ben Robertson said he sold the idea of competing at Jump Jam as a day off school. He said some of the children in the group were neurodiverse, and while they might need ear muffs in other moments where they were overstimulated, they had managed to complete the dance without them. South Canterbury primary school pupils gathered at The Jump Jam Extravaganza 2026 last week Thursday at the Southern Trust Event Centre.
