An Otago driver led police on a merry chase on Tuesday, all the way to the Otago Corrections Facility (OCF).
Responding to complaints from the public about a driver passing on double yellow lines and speeding, police caught up with the woman on State Highway 1 and signalled for her to pull over.
Instead, she sped away before turning into Narrowdale Rd, where the OCF is located.
The woman, who was found in the prison visiting an inmate, was arrested and charged with driving in a dangerous manner and failing to stop for red and blue lights.
Her car was impounded.
She will appear in the Dunedin District Court at a later date. — Allied Media
