A person had to be freed from a vehicle by firefighters after a three-vehicle crash involving a logging truck near Milton yesterday.
Sergeant Robin Hutton, of Balclutha, said the crash happened at the intersection of Circle Hill Rd and the Waihola Highway, on State Highway 1 near Milburn, about 7.50am.
Initial investigations into the incident indicated there was a collision between a Honda car and a Nissan utility vehicle which caused the car to spin into the path of a logging truck, he said.
The driver of the car received minor injuries and was later taken to Dunedin Hospital for treatment.
The drivers of the other vehicles were ''shaken but unhurt'', Sgt Hutton said.
State Highway 1 was reduced to one lane as the southbound lane was blocked for about 40 minutes while emergency services were at the scene.
