Mrs Allen is well known in the Clinton and Balclutha area for volunteering to help out with events and activities including fundraisers for Clinton Primary School, and with particular attention to sports, athletics and the Country Saints team network for rural netballers.
"I learned to say yes to calls for volunteers from my parents," Mrs Allen said.
"Clinton is an awesome group of groups ... If you live rural and find yourself driving and travelling there’s all kinds of things you can do to help out."
