The sisters are known for bringing their miniature pony Snowy to deliver sponsored gifts to children in hospital at Christmas, but were nominated especially for founding the Balclutha Pink junior netball team, to help more young players develop skills and confidence.
"I personally just like seeing the children’s reaction,’’ Cassandra said.
‘‘They get so happy and excited when they can do and achieve something great. I love seeing that, and being able to help them get to that point."
Tanisha said coaching had also renewed the sisters’ own enjoyment of the game.
"Seeing these kids learning and loving netball, it kind of brought the passion back for us as well," she said.
Balclutha Pink is in its second season and has grown to seven members amid the district’s thriving netball scene.
