The search for a new Lawrence-Tuapeka Community Board member has begun.
Nominations opened yesterday for the vacancy which was created after first-term member Nick Salt resigned, citing frustration about the lack of work carried out by the board.
The Clutha District Council will now hold a by-election to replace him. Nominations for the vacancy close with the Clutha District Council at noon on December 22.
Voting will be conducted by post, with papers able to be returned any time between January 19 and February 10. The new member is expected to be confirmed in mid-February.
