Volunteers and their contributions to the Clutha district will be celebrated this month.
Community co-ordinator Jean Proctor said Clutha Country Volunteer Value Week would be held alongside National Volunteer Awareness Week from June 17 to 23.
Mrs Proctor said the initiatives were supported by the Clutha District Development Board as recognising the considerable contribution of volunteers to community development.
A series of workshops and presentations on Thursday, June 21, will be facilitated by community development specialist Kerri Tilby-Price, covering the recruiting and retaining of volunteers, sharing of support resources, and the more unknown sides of community volunteering.
Not-for-profit workshops run by the Otago Chamber of Commerce, and several Clutha District Youth Council initiatives are also planned for the week.More informationis available at www.cluthacountry.co.nz
