The Bridge to Beach attracted record numbers yesterday, with more than 200 competitors across five events.
The competition began at the Clutha Rugby Club in Balclutha and finished in Kaka Point. It included several different races - a 21km half-marathon run, 8.5km recreational walk, and 21.1km, 35km and family biking events.
Organiser Lisa Lyall said she was ''overwhelmed'' by the number of entries.
''I was hoping for 150 so to have 235 is just amazing. It's the biggest year yet.''
Competitors raced in warm weather with temperatures above 20degC, with a few spots of rain towards the end of the event.
The Johnstone Electrical-supported event began in 2010, and this year the 35km road cycle was introduced to the growing number of categories.
''The 35km cycle will return next year, and we're thinking of introducing a 10km run.''
Greg Hannah won the men's half-marathon with a time of 1hr 26min 51sec while Mel Aitken won the women's event in 1hr 28min 27sec..
Bridge to Beach is an annual fundraiser for the Kaka Point Surf Life Saving Club.
