South Otago A and P show today

Organisers of today's 142nd annual South Otago A and P Show have their fingers crossed for fine weather.

Last night, the traditional Friday night entertainment drew a large crowd and society secretary Charlotte Caulfield hoped the crowds would be big again today.

While the show continues to attract plenty of agricultural entries, two other drawcards are expected to help bring members of the public through the turnstiles.

Swazi clothing company co-founder Davey Hughes will make several appearances during the event, and the crowning of the 40th annual Show Queen is also expected to prove popular.

The show will be held at the Balclutha Showgrounds.
