Clutha beat Gore for the "Battle of the Bell" at Clutha District War Memorial & Community Centre Te Pou Ō Mata-Au, on Saturday, September 13.
The annual photography competition, originally between multiple clubs, was resurrected last year by the Gore and Clutha clubs after about 20 years in the darkroom.
Well-known Dunedin photographer and New Zealand Photographic Society judge John Hart scored images entered in four theme categories.
Clutha maintained good points throughout the competition to end up taking the namesake cowbell trophy, 37 points to Gore’s 27.
The presentation was attended by about 30 members of both clubs, who took note of the judge’s comments and heard Balclutha bird watcher Richard Schofield speak about his experiences monitoring different species around the world.
The Clutha Camera club was reformed in 2018 and welcomes photographers of all abilities to 7pm meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at Leishman’s Funeral Services in John St, Balclutha.
