Organisers of next year's Big River festival on February 14 are keen to see some nuptials exchanged on the same day as the public swarm to the riverbank by the Balclutha bridge.
Project Clutha chairwoman Sarah Andrew said all the ingredients for an inexpensive wedding would be at the festival and there was no reason why a couple could not take advantage.
"We will have a marquee there anyway, a band, hopefully good weather and we are looking into getting a marriage celebrant to be available just in case we end up having a wedding at the end of the day."
The group had decided to cast the net for any couples who wanted to share their big day with the rest of the community.
Aside from free use of a marquee and venue, the happy couple would also get a gift from organisers and a free crowd too, Miss Andrew joked.
The wedding could happen about 3pm once the festival events have finished.
