Motorists were warned to expect delays after a truck and trailer overturned between Winton and Nightcaps.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to reports of a truck and trailer overturning in the Winton-Wreys Bush Highway (State Highway 96) in Dunearn Southland about 4pm yesterday.
The crash happened between Hundred Line Rd and Transmission Line Rd, the spokeswoman said.
Both lanes of the road were blocked and drivers were warned to expect delays.
There was no indication of any injuries, the spokeswoman said.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said two fire trucks were sent.
PowerNet notified an outage affecting the Dunearn area that started at 4.03pm.
A spokeswoman said the outage was caused by the truck hitting a pole and 56 customers were affected.
37 customers had their power restored at 5.20pm and the remaining 19 were restored at 10.10pm, the spokeswoman said.
