Two residential blocks in Appleby, Invercargill, were cordoned off by police about 3.30pm yesterday while officers and the armed offenders squad conducted a search warrant. A police spokesman said the squad was called in as a precaution. The police and squad were then called in again about 5pm, to reports of a family-harm incident nearby in Conon St. Two people were taken into custody and will appear in court later this week.
