Centre to host dozens of artists for weekend event

The Lake Wānaka Centre has been transformed into an art gallery for the Wānaka Arts Society’s 44th annual Labour Weekend Exhibition & Art Sale.

One hundred and fifty artists from across the country will showcase over 300 pieces of art at the four-day event, which celebrated its grand opening with an awards ceremony on Thursday night.

As in previous years, all of the pieces on display are available to buy. Working artists will also be active on site today and tomorrow demonstrating their craft, including art jeweller Anna Claire, abstract watercolourist Sophie Melville, weaver Enger Pelosi-Fear, painter and illustrator Agate Rubene, and ceramicist Esperance Steven.
