Crash prompts call to drive to conditions

Motorists are being reminded to ‘‘drive to the conditions’’ after a car overturned south of the Cardrona village yesterday.

Wanaka Volunteer Fire Brigade, St John and the Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter were called to the scene near an accident black spot on the Crown Range Rd at 11.30am.

Senior Constable Ian Henderson, of Wanaka, said the driver was heading towards Queenstown when her car appeared to have skidded on grit on the road.

The woman was uninjured and there were no passengers.

Constable Henderson said drivers needed to drive to the conditions and to make sure they allowed plenty of time for their journey.
