A person was airlifted to hospital after falling off a chairlift at Cardrona Alpine Resort yesterday.
St John South Island communications manager Gerard Campbell said they were alerted to the incident at 10.17am, and sent a helicopter from Queenstown.
One patient was flown to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries, he said. He had no further information.
Cardrona Alpine Resort and Treble Cone communications executive Jen Houltham said "one of our guests came into difficulty after loading the Captain's Express chairlift, resulting in them falling from the lift".
"This person received medical attention on the mountain before being transferred to Dunedin for further assessment and treatment.
"We are reviewing the incident with our teams," Ms Houltham said.
