Three injured after jet boat crashes on Lake Wanaka

Three people are being transported to the Wanaka Medical Centre after the jetboat they were travelling in hit a bank and crashed on Lake Wanaka at the mouth of the Matukituki River.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said a 68-year-old male had moderate injuries, while two others had suffered minor injuries.

The gender and age of the two patients with minor injuries was not known.

Two other people were on board the jetboat but were not injured.

A police spokeswoman said police were called to the scene at 3pm today.

Police and two ambulances attended the scene, as well as another jetboat to assist with transporting the patients off the boat
