Police have confirmed a 66-year-old Seddonville woman died in a head-on crash between two cars in the Lower Buller Gorge on State Highway 6 yesterday afternoon.
She was the driver of one of the vehicles. A 54-year-old male passenger in her vehicle was taken to Greymouth Hospital with head injuries.
A 60-year-old female driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries and her 10-year-old passenger was uninjured. They are both from the Westport area.
A serious crash investigation is under way.
