The new West Otago Community Board met for the first time this week.

Board members were sworn in by Clutha Mayor Bryan Cadogan. Waikoikoi farmer Antony Robertson and Heriot-based West Otago Transport manager Bruce Robertson were the only ''new faces'' around the board table.

They replaced Kelso farmer Lindsay Alderton and Edievale farmer Mike McElrea. No election was needed for the board, which has six elected members and two ward councillors.

Barbara Hanna and John Herbert were both re-elected to the positions of chairwoman and deputy chairman respectively.
