The Southland Fish & Game Council has announced it has withdrawn from Environment Court proceedings regarding Rule 24 of the Southland Land and Water Plan, bringing its involvement in the case to a close.
Regional chairman Dave Macgregor said the case had been running since 2016, and the government had significantly changed the law around freshwater management.
"We will be watching any developments closely to ensure the outcomes deliver meaningful improvements for water quality in Southland," Mr Macgregor said. — Allied Media
