Athletics: Adams notches another win

Valerie Adams continued her stellar season in the Slovakian city of Dubnica overnight when she won the shot put competition with the third longest throw of her career.

The Olympic and three-time world champion added 46cm to her meeting record set last year when she hurled the put 20.83m. Her throw was 2.59m ahead of her nearest rival, Cleopatra Borel-Brown of Trinidad and Tobago, and she has now extended her unbeaten record to 15 competitions.

At the same meeting, Kiwi runner Zane Robertson, who is based in Ethiopia, won the 1500m in 3min 46.84sec. His twin, Jake Robertson, who is based in Kenya, was still feeling the effects of a leg injury following a fall at the recent world championships in Korea and finished fourth in the 5000m.
