The White Ferns are approaching the end of their first week in quarantine.
They are in Brisbane for a series of games against
Australia and, to help break the monotony of quarantine life, Martin has been working on her barista skills.
She has set up a coffee machine in her room and
even does deliveries for her appreciative team-mates.
The coffee is as much about the chat as the beverage.
Martin has been working closely with fellow wicketkeeper Natalie Dodd, who has been recalled following a strong domestic showing.
"I think it’s important to pass on some tips. Doddy’s been brilliant,’’ Martin said.
"I love to chat, so she’s had to listen to me rabbit away but she’s helped me with some technical stuff as well."
Martin is looking forward to the opportunity of taking on Australia on their turf. It is
the biggest challenge in the game.
"We get the bit between the teeth when we play Aussie.
"I’m confident we can get up, six games to play, so hopefully we can make it six from six," she said.
The team is in quarantine for the first two weeks. The first of three twenty20 internationals starts on September 26, while the one-dayers get under way on October 3.
The Rose Bowl trophy will be up for grabs during the one-day series.
