The team, coached by Neil Rosenberg, qualified for the national final when it beat beat Blue Mountain College in the Southern region final.
Blue Mountain College reached the finals last year.
"We are aware of the demands that such an intense competition will bring but we will relish the opportunity to pit our skills against the best schoolgirl teams in New Zealand," Rosenberg said.
The four day competition uses a 50-over format and it will be the biggest challenge the team has faced. The team is made up of multitalented players who have represented Otago in various sporting codes.
Kate Kernaghan (16), the daughter of Commonwealth Games bowls singles bronze medallist Mike Kernaghan, is also a member of the top school teams in hockey and football and has played for the New Zealand under-16 hockey team.
Kernaghan, the wicketkeeper, is a skilled right-hand batsman with an excellent array of shots and has the discipline to bat for long periods.
Amy Rapsley (17) is another multitalented sportswoman. She is Otago's best female tennis player and is an all-rounder at cricket.
Philippa Cashmere, the captain, is an aggressive medium-paced bowler with the ability to lift the ball sharply off a good length.
Mandy Macdonald (15), one of the youngest members of the team, is an allrounder who is a member of Otago Cricket's women's development team.
She typifies girls from the country districts who are making their mark on sport at the school and in the province. She is from Clydevale and her cousin, Kristin Macdonald, is from Tokanui.
The competition at Owen Delany Park in Taupo will be the first experience on grass wickets for most of the team.
The teams competing are Epsom Girls' Grammar, Baradene College (Auckland), Havelock North, St Hilda's Collegiate, Wellington Girls' College, New Plymouth Girls, Burnside High and Waikato Diocesan.
New Plymouth Girls and Havelock North shared the title last year, after rain washed out the final day.
