Green Island and Albion remain unbeaten after two rounds of the premier club one-day tournament, while a stacked North East Valley side recorded its first win.

Green Island 202 for eight beat Kaikorai 120 for nine by 82 runsOtago opener Brad Wilson helped set up a comfortable win for Green Island with a half-century at Bishopscourt.

Wilson, who brought up his 100th first-class game last week, stroked 55 from 71 balls to guide Green Island to 202 for eight.

Former Kaikorai all-rounder Geordie Scott had a good match against his old side, scoring 41 from 56 balls. He was trapped lbw by Otago and Kaikorai leg-spinner Michael Rippon, who had a fine match with four for 39. Provincial team-mate Jacob Duffy also bowled well for Kaikorai with two for 39.

Kaikorai’s chase got off to a poor start with Christi Viljoen (four for 30) and Blair Soper (two for 37) combining to reduced the home side to 21 for four. Taine Bayly helped save further blushes with 52 runs from 59 balls. But his side was bowled out in the 27th over, 82 runs short of its target.

Carisbrook-Dunedin 215 lost to North East Valley 219 for five by five wicketsOtago top-order batsman Anaru Kitchen had a memorable day for his club side.

He took four for 30 with his left-armer tweakers and walloped an unbeaten 67 to help North East Valley secure a five-wicket win at Logan Park.

Early on Carisbrook-Dunedin took the game to a stacked North East Valley team featuring four Otago players. Openers Richard Sillars (76) and Camden Hawkins (41) put on 98 for the first wicket.

Black Caps all-rounder Jimmy Neesham was one of their victims, going for 39 runs during a six-over stint.But North Easy Valley wrestled control of the game through spinners Kitchen and Hunter Kindley (three for 34).

The Dogs were eventually dismissed for 215.

Otago premier batsman Neil Broom (71) and Tom Griffin (50) settled any nerves with a 101-run opening stand. Kitchen did the rest, clouting eight fours and a six to help his side seal victory with more than 11 overs spare.

Taieri 156 lost to Albion 160 for eight by two wicketsA bold counterattack from Dexter Marsh helped Albion clinch a tense two-wicket win against Taieri at Logan Park.

In a game where the bowlers called most of the shots, Marsh smashed an undefeated 37 from 28 balls to seal the win.

Earlier Taieri had posted a modest total of 156. Otago captain Rob Nicol top-scored with 50, Jack Hunter made a battling 30 and Regan Flaws added a valuable 34.

Albion’s bowling unit featured Black Caps left-armer Neil Wagner and Otago contracted player Matt Bacon.Bacon grabbed two early wickets and Wagner took two for 12 from seven overs.

Marsh also notched two wickets, including the key scalp of Nicol.But what seemed like a easy chase quickly got bogged down with Albion struggling to build partnerships.

Strike bowler Warren Barnes took two for 24 from eight overs and Flaws three for 43.Albion had slumped to 116 for eight but Bacon held up an end and Marsh swung away six fours and a six during a clutch innings.
