Bogey good enough for title

A bogey five on the playoff hole was good enough to give Matthew Crawford, of St Clair, a win in the under-23 grade and the Ken Reddington Memorial trophy for 2018.

Crawford shot two rounds of 72 and tied with first-round leader Jacob Bellamy, of St Clair, with 69 and 75 but took the title winning the playoff.

Bellamy claimed under-19 honours and promising junior Parker Aluesi (St Clair) followed his successful senior A pennant debut on Saturday, by winning the under-16 title.

The under-14 championship was played over 18 holes. The honours among the younger golfers went to 10-year-old Noa Novacek, a Wakatipu junior, who carded a gross score of 84.
