Pilkadaris hit a 62 in yesterday’s round and leads by five shots, sitting on 24 under.
He charged home in the back nine at Millbrook after Callan O’Reilly had briefly led at the turn.
O’Reilly sits in second with a crowd of players behind him.
The leading New Zealander is Wellington amateur Daniel Hillier on 16 under.
Humid weather and no wind again led to low scores with a similar forecast for tomorrow.
