Mosgiel driver Chris Hey has won the two-wheel-drive section of the Ashley Forest rally sprint for the fifth consecutive year.
Hey, in a Nissan-powered MR2, posted a time of 1min 5.66sec, more than a second ahead of Trevor Crowe, of Christchurch, in a Subaru.
About 25 2WD cars competed.
Hey was quick enough to finish in the top eight overall. His co-driver was Damon Findlater, of Dunedin.
The overall winner of the event was Josh Silcock, of Rangiora.
Hey's next assignment is the Cromwell street sprints at the end of the month.
