With the semifinal draw still to be finalised, Phys Ed is peaking at the right time, with one week of the regular season remaining.
It was a fast and furious start from both teams as they worked into their rhythm. An early miss from University Albion saw Phys Ed grab the lead and it did not relinquish it for the rest of the game.
University Albion was again without co captain Bridget Thayer in the shooting circle and the new attack combination again was not gelling early.
Up 10-3 early in the quarter, Phys Ed was dominating on attack. Former Silver Ferns goal shoot Jo Morrison continued to turn back the clock and her combination with Sophie Johns was doing the damage.
At the other end, the Phys Ed defensive pairing of Abby Erwood and Laura Overton made University Albion work hard for every pass.
University Albion started the second quarter well and closed the gap back to four goals but was unable to sustain the intensity and went into halftime trailing by 12.
Both teams opted to make changes heading into the third quarter. University Albion shooters Olivia van Diepen and Emma King switched to try to combat the tough defensive pressure, while Sam Hollows moved out to wing defence.
It made little difference and Phys Ed pulled away in the final quarter to cement the victory.
Morrison said it was a full team effort.
''Our connections were great. Everyone did their own job well - the little things which we talked about, and it made things easier on court.''
Morrison said it was a nice position to be in with three shooting combinations all given court time.
''We went to the comp in Gore last Sunday and without Sophie [Johns], it was Erin [Hughes] and myself, which helped us get more game time together. Having all three combinations is a great position to be in.''
University Albion co captain Georgie McFarlane said it was a frustrating performance.
''We had a good practice this week and a good warm up so I'm not quite sure why we couldn't put it out on court,'' McFarlane said.
''I think at times we were just playing too fast, not playing our own game for the second week in a row, but we will come back firing.''
In the day's other games, College A beat Southern Tui 81-35 and Southern Steel players Te Paea Selby Rickit and Gina Crampton helped the Southern Magpies beat University Albion B 85-35.
