University Albion too strong, accurate for Physed B

University Albion B powered to a 69-34 win over Physed B in the second round of the Dunedin premier netball competition on Saturday.

Albion B led 17-8 at the first break and a strong start to the second quarter resulted in it opening up a 13-goal advantage by halftime.

Annie Racklyeft dominated the shooting circle, landing 36 of her 44 attempts at goal to run at 81.8%.

Madeline Bailey was also on point with her shooting, with a flawless 100%.

Physed midcourter combination, Tia Pavihi (WA) and Molly Mason-Galletly (C) were on form with their feeds into their shooters.

University Albion extended their advantage to 47-24 at the three-quarter break.

Physed were trying to close the gap, their defenders, Amelia McKeown (GD) and Lily Keating (GK) were doing everything they could to prevent Racklyeft from scoring.

Goal attack Hannah O’Connor shot 64.6% for Physed but it was not enough to close the gap.

In other games Physed A dominated College A leaving Physed A to win 71-53.

Southern Magpies had a narrow, 50-47, win over University Albion A.

Next week Physed A plays Physed B at 10.45am, University Albion A plays University Albion B at 12.30pm and Southern Magpies play College A at 2.15pm
