There will be an unexpected "new" face on the Steel bench tonight, with former Silver Ferns captain Adine Wilson returning to the side.
Wilson has been called into the Steel as a temporary replacement for the game against the Mystics in Auckland.
The 33-year-old will fill the gap left by midcourter Shannon Francois, who has been ruled out after suffering a grade two sprain to her right ankle in the dying stages of last week's clash against the Magic.
Highly rated for her attacking skills and vision, Wilson last represented the Steel when she captained the side in 2009, before stepping away from netball due to the impending arrival of her second son in 2010.
Representing Otago while studying law in Dunedin, Wilson went on to star for the Steel's predecessor, the Southern Sting, winning five National Bank Cup titles with the team between 2001 and 2007.
With injury severely depleting its ranks in recent weeks, the Steel has been forced to add temporary firepower in the form of New Zealand under-21 midcourter Gina Crampton, as a replacement for Courtney Tairi (knee injury), and former Mystics and Rebels defender Stephanie Bond, as cover for Sheryl Scanlan (foot injury).
