The 1998 national championship-winning Otago Rebels are set for a reunion at Otago netball's centenary celebrations next year.
The Rebels won the inaugural revamped national league title with a 57-50 win over the Southern Sting at the Edgar Centre, before losing the rematch the following year in the decider.
While some details of the May 1-2 weekend are yet to be finalised, celebrations will be held on the Friday and Saturday and will incorporate the Southern Steel v Central Pulse game at the Edgar Centre.
A buffet dinner, registrations and the cutting of the cake have been pencilled in for the Friday night, while organisers are planning a fashion show and a curtain-raiser to the ANZ Championship match on the Saturday.
Kay Anderson, who is helping organise the weekend, said organisers would meet on Monday night to finalise the schedule and the cost of ticket packages, which would include a ticket to the Steel v Pulse game.
''We had talked about having a memories day on the Sunday, but we thought we would be better off by having a really good burst on the Friday and the Saturday, and that gives people the Sunday to go home,'' she said.
''Quite a few'' registrations had already been received online and hard copy registration forms were being sent out.
Registrations were expected to increase after Christmas, Anderson said.
People can register at www.dunedinnetball.co.nz or by calling Kay Anderson (03) 488-1566 or 021 032-7827.
