Netball: Southern Steel abandon co-coach model

The Southern Steel netball franchise is abandoning its co-coaching arrangement and will revert to a traditional coaching structure next year.

Chief executive David Bannister announced the decision today.

A co-coaching arrangement was trialled this season, with Dunedin's Janine Southby and Invercargill's Natalie Avellino sharing the responsibilities.

However, the Southern TeamCo board, which governs the Steel, has supported Bannister's recommendation the franchise return to a head coach and assistant coach system.
