A strong performance has enabled Phys Ed A to claim its second big win in as many weeks.

It was dominant, it was clinical and it was ruthless as it piled on the points for a 94-25 win over a young Southern Tui team in Dunedin Premier A club netball on Saturday.

Most impressive was its performance in the second quarter, when it scored 20 goals and held Southern to just one.

Defensively it was rampant, as the duo of Abi Souchon and Kelly Groot proved disruptive in the circle, while the midcourt began picking off more and more passes.

Southern attempted just five shots in that second quarter, going with the 12 it attempted in the first.

That meant it trailed 46-11 at halftime, as Phys Ed was equally effective on the attacking end.

The scoring gap opened quickly and within three minutes Phys Ed held a 7-2 lead.

It remained closer through the middle of the quarter, before Phys Ed pulled away for a 26-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

After Phys Ed's dominance of the second quarter, it made several changes to start the third.

Southern took advantage of that, enjoying its best period, going on a 5-2 run to start the half. All five of those came via Harriet Clyma, who finished the quarter with eight goals, shooting at 100%.

However, it was the only blip in Phys Ed's game. It came racing back as Ella McCall added three goals to even the quarter score before Sophie Johns added another three in a row.

The fourth quarter brought much of the same as Phys Ed ran riot to ruthlessly finish with 22 goals to Southern's four.

Its shooting team proved difficult to stop. Sarah Boomer made 42 goals from 55 attempts, while goal attack Ella McCall managed 31 from 37.

Sophie Johns entered in the second half, spending a quarter at goal shoot and goal attack, making 21 from 25.

Clyma was the most prolific of the Southern shooters, scoring 14 goals from 21 attempts, while Emerson Tod finished with eight from 11.

In other games, Phys Ed B beat University-Albion B 46-43, College A downed University-Albion A 53-48 and Southern Magpies defeated St Hilda's Collegiate 61-32.
