Columba College’s Lila Rhodes runs in the junior girls grade of the Caversham Relays on Thursday.

The race was the second event of four on the Otago Secondary Schools cross country series.

Rhodes recorded the fastest individual lap in the junior girls grade, spurring her Columba team past Otago Girls’ High School to win.

Otago Boys’ High School won the junior boys grade with rapid laps from Fergus Oberlin-Brown and Hugo Barsby.

King’s High School won the senior boys, although Otago Boys’ Jake Owens delivered the fastest lap.

St Hilda’s Collegiate’s Zara Geddes narrowly pipped Otago Girls’ Catherine Lund for the fastest senior girls lap, although St Hilda’s claimed a comfortable overall victory.

Kavanagh College and Bayfield High School won the junior and senior mixed races respectively, while Kaikorai Valley College won the para race.
