The North Island’s stranglehold on the Kevin Eddy Memorial Trophy continued with an 18-6 win over the South Island at the Waihi Beach Community Centre at the weekend. No fewer than 11 of the games were decided by one or two shots.
Otago bowler Nicholas Sinclair was lead in the South men’s triples team who won all three of their games. Otago team-mates Brandon Williams (men’s singles), Keri Te Tamaki (women’s pairs skip) and Tracey van Tuel (women’s fours lead) also played for South, alongside South Otago bowlers Robert Wilson (men’s fours skip) and Hannah Botting (women’s triples skip), North Otago bowler Neil Gilbert (men’s pairs lead), and Southland bowlers Gary Low (men’s pairs skip), Graham Low (men’s fours) and Christine Langley (women’s triples).
Matthew Foster, who hails from Gisborne but is a university student in Dunedin, was lead for the men’s pair in the victorious North team.
