Slippery ballroom

Dunedin ice dance pairs Gemma (10) and Benjamin (12) Pickering (left) and Lucienne Holtz (15) and Tim Bradfield (14) pose at the Dunedin Ice Stadium this week before  to leaving for South Korea.

They will attend an international ice dance training seminar in Seoul on August 10-18. 

There they will receive tuition from leading international coaches on various elements of ice dance. 

Dunedin Ice Skating Club president Virginia Cathro said it was a wonderful opportunity. She described ice dance as similar to ballroom dancing, but on ice.

The two duos are looking forward to meeting others from Asia, Oceania and South Africa.

Isabelle Guise and Dashane du Plessis, from Gore, are also going.
