Saints coach Kevin Jones, along with son Jamie, were ejected from the game, and the match was abandoned, with the win awarded to Dodgers 7-0.
The Saints side had become upset over an umpiring decision over illegal running.
It is believed to be the first time in about 10 years a game has been called off for disciplinary reasons.
Otago Softball Association executive officer Jill Johnson said the duo would appear at a disciplinary hearing tonight.
Possible penalties include a suspension of games and a stand-down period.
She declined to say what happened but it was believed Jamie Jones objected to being ruled out after standing on the wrong bag on first base.
He argued with the umpire and then the coach got involved, and the umpire sent both players out of the game.
The game continued but the player and coach who had been ejected did not leave and continued to stand and watch, with vocal comments to the umpire.
With only an inning left, the umpire, whom Johnson declined to name, had had enough and called the game off.
Dodgers, ahead by three runs at the time, was awarded the victory.
Johnson said she could not say much about the incident as it was still in front of a disciplinary hearing, although she was obviously disappointed it happened.
Kevin Jones could not be contacted yesterday.
