The Courage Under Fire gelding has had just one draw better than barrier 8 in his past six starts, but barrier 4 could work the oracle in a 2200m mobile pace tonight.
Co-trainer Amber Hoffman said the draw, where he crucially draws inside leading runners Leigh Major and Scottish Duchess, should be a big help, especially after he showed gate-speed last week when finishing third behind Leo.
''He went good last week, because he drew out wide and flew the gate,'' Hoffman said.
''I think Jonny's [driver Jonny Cox] just going to drive with one run at them. But he feels good and looks good.''
Rip Roaring may have finally found some luck with the barrier draws, but stablemate For The Goodtimes has not been so fortunate in the same race. She will start from barrier 7, outside the three likely favourites. She was blocked for a run when fifth in the same race as Rip Roaring last week.
''She's actually been a bit unlucky in all her starts. She just needs luck,'' Hoffman said.
A wide draw of 6 for Shya (race 6) is less of a factor, as she has very little gate speed.
She remains a day-to-day proposition for her owners, the Enright family, and Hoffman said that the 7yr-old still need-ed to be looked after.
''Her leg's looking OK. It's a bit ugly.
''But she worked really well on Tuesday so should go OK. She'll just go back and get on the fence.''
Tandy Franco (race 5) and Chiodon (race 1) are both recent arrivals to the Westwood Beach stables, but Hoffman warned punters first starter Tandy Franco might need the run after qualifying at Motukarara in late April.
''She came down about a week later, but we didn't do a lot with her for a wee bit,'' she said.
''We're just going to treat this as a trial for her, but she's a nice filly. It'll be an experience for her.''
Chiodon is a typical Sundon mare who keeps the stable staff on their toes, and has a win in her ''but that's about it'', Hoffman said.
''We gave her a quiet run this morning and she went good. But she's just got to get round [without breaking].''
Black Ice (race 4) and King Louie (race 10) both disappointed at their last runs, although Hoffman said Black Ice seemed to have responded well to being ridden in work since her ninth at Ascot Park.
King Louie is helped by the preferential barrier draw putting Sheeza Shark, Al Raza, Irish Kath and Acolyte outside him, but even that might not be enough.
It's a tidy field and he probably can't win that race,'' she said.
''The only good thing that came out of last week was that he actually steered good for the first time in his life.''
Free Dreams, a dual winner at Waterlea last weekend, is being aimed towards Addington next Friday, Hoffman said.
