Cayford bought the gelding earlier this year with brother Alex and son Jason, collecting a win and two thirds from six starts for the new owners since he changed hands in January.
Homeforabubbly's trainer, Jonny Cox, said the 4yr-old's nine-length victory was an ideal tonic after shaking off a virus.
Cox sent Homeforabubbly to the lead after making a flying start from his 10m handicap against two maiden pacers.
''I was wanting a good run, so I didn't want to sit behind them,'' Cox said.
''It's a hard one as you don't want to go too hard for the others, but you want to do the right thing for your horse.''
The son of Holmes Hanover will head to Ashburton on Sunday, along with Mach Kana who has been stabled at Westwood Beach in recent weeks for Canterbury trainer Mark Jones.
''I've got a few one-win horses to drive at the moment, so I've got to try and split them up everywhere,'' he said.
''There's a bit of travelling over the weekend - I've got two in at Addington on Friday night [Jaccka Justy and Cherokee Charlie] so I'll be up and down the country.''
Lucie De Gerolstein, a recent arrival to Cox's stable, also made a good impression yesterday, winning her non-winners trotting heat by 12 lengths.
Cox received a text message from Karl Henson, who had leased the 4yr-old Love You mare, asking for Cox's daily rates and he was duly offered the horse to train.
''She's still learning the game but she was good out there today.
''A three-horse field makes it hard to get a line on her, but her manners were good, so she'll come back to the work-outs here on Saturday.''
She will then progress to a non-winners trot at Winton on May 26.
''The big track will suit her better, I think.''
An Elsu gelding who trots was an impressive solo winner for Mosgiel trainer Darryn Simpson at the yesterday.
Eltsunami, who qualified as a pacer at Rangiora in January, has found his niche in the trotting gait, judging by his faultless trotting display around the 1000m track.
The 3yr-old wears half-hopples to assist him in his gait, Simpson said.
''It seems to keep his mind on the job and doing everything right,'' he said.
''The next thing is a bit of ring craft in the field.''
Simpson was handed Eltsunami from Jones.
''The owner asked if I'd have a go with him and try him as a trotter,'' he said.
''Mark thought he had a lot of ability, but could do with being in a smaller stable and a bit of time.''
Eltsunami trotted the 2200m in 2.59.3, 5.4sec under the qualifying time and his next assignment will be a work-out in the coming weeks.
Confused Superstar (12 wins) is the most notable Elsu progeny to succeed in the trotting gait.
Southland Reflector warmed up for his engagement at Forbury Park on Thursday night with a dominant 14-length win over his two rivals in a faster-class trot. He will be joined in the 1-3 win trot by French Desire, who held off her three opponents in the other faster-class trot in a time of 2.57.2.
