The Lightning Stakes winner was back early in the group 3 Concorde Handicap, but hit the line well for fifth after encountering some trouble as he went to make his run in the 1200m feature.
His Wingatui trainer, Paul Richards, said the Coats Choice 5yr-old would be much better for the experience, including handling the clockwise direction of racing for the first time.
''He didn't have a lot of luck in the running again,'' Richards said.
''He didn't get around the [last] corner that good but the last bit, he found the line really good. It gives you enough confidence to stay and have a go.''
Natuzzi carried 59kg on Saturday, but will move down the weights scale for the group 1, which Richards said would suit the gelding.
''He'll have 55.5kg on the set weights and penalty conditions of the race. He'll meet Fleur De Lune and Durham Town a lot better off.
''He's got 3 weeks to prepare - with that run under his belt, you'll think he'll be better for the experience.''
Chris Johnson will replace Leith Innes for the Railway, while Natuzzi will remain at Richard Collett's Pukekohe stables.
Richards' son, Jamie, will travel north from Matamata to ride work when possible.
''I'll go up a week and a-half before and he can have a decent hit-out before the Railway,'' Richards said.
