A handsome $500,000 is up for grabs when the new bet type, Triple Trio, comes to Wingatui tomorrow.
Here are a couple of ways to play it.
Firstly, you could follow the successful path trod by Milton's Len Glassford, and a punter in Mosgiel last week, by going down the Easybet route.
Alternatively, here's one way of having a go with $25 - be that your own $25 or $5 each from you and four friends.
Leg 1 (race 8)
The White Robe Lodge Handicap features a full field, but I reckon we can narrow down our spending needs a bit here, by putting in two anchors.
This means those two horses need to finish in the first three and I think the local runners Natuzzi and The Diamond One will be hitting the line strongly.
Add in El Chico, Paraketo, Emerald Queen and - for a bit of value - Chapel Star and we should go pretty close.
Suggested leg bet: 2, 6 anchored with 1, 4, 7, 8.
Leg 2 (race 9)
This rating 65 1600m field is tough, but I am going local here again to find an anchor. Miss Three Stars handled the step up in grade just fine at Omakau four weeks ago.
We can go pretty wide with the rest of the selections - Torque It Up, Life's In A Spin, Snip In Time, Crystal Fox, Greyray and Whare Creek.
Suggested leg bet: 4 anchored with 2, 3, 7, 8, 11, 14.
Leg 3 (race 10)
An anchor, an anchor, my kingdom for an anchor, or in this case two anchors. The form of Wedgie and Drumregal has been impeccable - most importantly, they have performed at Wingatui. Anchor those two gallopers and add in Latin Saint, Our Santana, Delirium and Ask Me.
Suggested leg bet: 3, 5 anchored with 1, 2, 7, 9
A $25 investment on this bet will return you 10% of the dividend if things happen to fall the right way.
