Motu Young Jacob, who resumes racing at Winton on Saturday, was successful at the trials at Ascot Park yesterday.
Motu Young Jacob has not raced since an Auckland campaign in July.
The 5yr-old won twice at Alexandra Park over 2700m in June from seven starts on the northern trip.
• Maori Invasion was 8.7sec inside the required time when he qualified at Oamaru yesterday.
Maori Invasion won his test by five lengths in 3.23.5 for the 2500m, the last 800m in 60.4.
He is a 4yr-old gelding by Armbro Invasion and the first foal of Little Contessa (Britewell-Game Princess), who won four races from the stable of Phil Williamson, who trains Maori Invasion.
• Talented 3yr-old Major Mark is set to resume racing at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.
Major Mark has not raced since being unplaced in Australia on August 30.
He numbered the Harness Jewels among his eight wins and three placings from 13 starts for trainers Mark Purdon and Grant Payne.
Major Mark, who has not been to trials, has drawn one in the group two Elsu Classic for 3yr-olds over the 2200m (mobile).
De Lovely, a brilliant first-up winner last Friday night, has drawn one on the second row for the group one $80,000 Queen Of Hearts, for fillies and mares over 2200m (mobile).
